The Importance of Early Socialization Classes
“Research has shown that the 1st 3 months of life are when sociability outweighs fear… Incomplete or improper socialization during this important time can increase the risk of behavioral problems later in life including fear, avoidance, and/or aggression. Behavioral problems are the greatest threat to the owner-dog bond. In fact, behavioral problems are the #1 cause of relinquishment to shelters. But I Am Afraid My Puppy Could Get Parvo
Puppies “vaccinated at least once before 16 weeks of age….were at no greater risk of Canine Parvo Virus infection that vaccinated puppies that did not attend those classes” AAHA
“Puppies…may be enrolled in a socialization class outside the home as close to 8 weeks of age as possible if there is a well-run class in the area that is held indoors” AVMA
Anything’s PAWSable Puppy Classes meet the needs of these young learners. Puppy Start Right is a program co-developed by a veterinarian and a trainer. S.T.A.R. Puppy Kindergarten follows the guidelines of the American Kennel Club for early puppy training and socialization. All puppies enrolled are checked to be free from any signs of illness and have been vaccinated at least once for parvo after the age of 8 weeks.

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Kindergarten
The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program rewards responsible owners who take the time to train and socialize their new puppies. This class follows the Puppy Start Right program.
